NLP is proud to announce the expansion of our services by adding a full machine shop on site.  Our machine shop is run by Dave Crume who formerly owned and operated CRE.  Dave's experience as one of the best engine builders in the business extends over 4 decades and has included many high profile race teams including those running in the NASCAR series.

FEATURED CARS

Listed below is the latest in featued cars that our shop built and tuned.

A Germany based customer employed us to build an American Supercar based on a 2006 Z06.  The lofty goals of this build were to reach 1000 horsepower and the car had to utilize catalytic converters to maintain emission compliance.  Follow along as we outline how we exceeded expecations with our Twin Turbo 427 cubic inch LSX.

Our team of experts started the process by machining and assembling a World Products Warhawk block that was filled with parts from Callies, Oliver, JE, Total Seal and Clevite.  Paying attention to the details was one of the keys that was going to keep this monster alive and to support that we incorporated piston oilers to reduce heat load and provide maximum durability.

The top oend of the motor was fabricated and assembled utilizing a set of World Product heads that were ported and fitted with Ferrea intake and Inconel exhaust valves.  A set of Comp Cams valve springs were utilized to help manage the valve events.  A custom gridn camshaft along with Jesel shaft mount rocker arms, custom Morel lifters and BLP pushrods rounded out the build.

To feed the necessary boost levels for this ground pounding motor we utilized a pair of Garrett GT 3582R turbos.  These are part of our APS turbo systems that incorporate twin air-to-air intercoolers to cool the incoming charge.  Our shop has engineered some addititional custom components that compliment the APS system and reduce the underhood and engine temperatures to ensure maximum power and reliability.

In order to support this massive power level we upgraded the complete drivetrain and transmission.  This was accomplished with components from RPM transmission,  an RPS triple carbon clutch,  carbon fiber driveshaft and a DTE Stage 3 differential.  Braking upgrades were incorporated by installing Stoptech's huge caliper and rotor assembly.

Our final touch on the car was one of the most critical components to the entire build, the custom dyno tuning.  This car had to be able to not only achieve the lofty power goals but needed to maintain some very realistic street driving manners to tour the European roads with a cool blast from the air conditioner during the summer months.

At the end of the tuning session our numbers reached the mark of 914 rear wheel horsepower.  This translates to well over 1000 engine hp given the parasitic loss of the drivetrain.  The car makes over 800 rwhp as soon as the rpms slip past 4,750.  The sharp reader's eyes will notice that there was no listing of methanol injection anywhere in this build.  All of the power was made utilizing a European blend gasoline of 96 octane only.
